Other services

There are a number of organisations who provides financial assistance, counselling assistance and legal advice in the Ballarat region.  Most of the services are free but please check with the organisation first because some of the services have eligibility criteria.

Settlement Program

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship, through the Settlement Grants Program (SGP), provides funding to assist humanitarian entrants and migrants settle in Australia and participate equitably in Australian society as soon as possible after arrival.

In Ballarat this service is porvided through the Ballarat Community Health Centre (03 5338 4500) and Child and Family services (CAFS) (03 5337 3333.

A number of agencies provide services for migrants and new arrivals in Australia especially in Ballarat.They provide housing assistance, immigration assistance and education assistance.
