SUMMARY:Rural and Regional Migration Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Rural and Regional Migration Forum will explore how migration can support local employers to fill labour gaps and grow their businesses whilst contributing to the long-term sustainability of rural and regional communities. \nPlease join us for a Welcome Reception at the Horsham Town Hall on Tuesday the 12th of March at 5.30pm. Complimentary light food and drinks will be provided. \nThe Forum will run from 9.00am to 3.30pm on Wednesday 13th of March with registration from 8.30am. \nWhat to Expect\n\nAs an attendee\, you can expect to: \n\nIdentify the barriers to employers using migrant and refugee talent to fill labour market shortages;\nGain a deeper understanding of the local labour market issues and pressures;\nHear from employees from migrant and refugee backgrounds about what has worked to assist them to settle into the community;\nHear from local employers that have successfully employed people from migrant and refugee backgrounds;\nGain awareness of the tools and resources that are available to employers;\nGain an understanding of locally-led migration and resettlement approaches;\nIdentify actions that will improve co-ordination across existing initiatives and projects.\n\nSpecial Guests\nIn addition to hearing from local employers and employees\, you will also hear from: \n\nLiz Ritchie\, Regional Australia Institute\nDavid Matthews\, Rural Migration Initiative\nAnna Robson and Andrew Keast\, Refugee Talent\nJohn Cameron\, Talent Beyond Boundaries\nAnnette Creek\, Wimmera CALD Workforce Industry Partnership\n\nWho Should Attend\n \nAnyone who would like to contribute to the conversation is welcome\, including: \n\nEmployers facing labour shortages\nPeople from migrant and refugee backgrounds\nCommunity and economic development workers\nSettlement service providers\nEmployment service professionals and recruiters\n\nRegistration is ESSENTIAL by 6 March at https://bit.ly/2MRYjTh \n
